Hi, No unfortunately it just says birth/baptism Kingscourt Parish, Cavan.
And as there is no census for 1851 to check, I'm not sure what else to advise.
Maybe someone else will come up with a good idea.  Good hunting anyway, Shirley

On the Irish Family History Site there is a Mary Brown born 1848 in Kingscourt' Cavan,
Parents John Brown & Bridget Carlan.   The sponsors were Bryan & Bessy Carlan.
Christened on the 18th June 1848 Roman Catholic.  Is his your lady?  Shirley

Hi, Pete,  Thanks for the suggestions.  Frustrating, isn't it?  I shall carry on digging.
It is what makes Irish genealogy so fascinating.  I'm just trying to prove which
branch Jane came from, and if she is one of my Langs or not.  Thank you for replying.

Cavan / Langs of Arvagh

I have a copy of a marriage certificate dated 1865 (attached) between James Lang
and Jane Lang in Arva.  James' residence was Castlepoles but Jane's appears to be
Bahagi.  Does anyone know this place? I thought it might be Irish for Behey as I am
trying to trace Jane's family.  Any help would be graefully received.  Shirley

Moderator comment: image cropped.  Only small portions of certificates may be posted to assist with unclear handwriting.

Hi, Dick, has Jamie put you in touch with Jack yet?  He's an incredible gentleman
and Frances Lang was his school teacher!  He left Bruse Hall in 1939. I'm so
excited hearing from him and I don't even know if Frances belongs to my Langs.

Hi, Dick,  As if Irish Genealogy isn't difficult enough, I'm trying to work out
who all my new contacts are!  I do have a copy of the Bruse Hall School
Register which shows George Alfred Lang.  It's not too clear but quite
interesting - Shirley

Hi, how interesting! My father's cousins went to Bruce Hall School, joining in about
1926.  They were Cecil David Stokes Lang & Ena Christina Lang.  I wonder if your
contact knew them.  Shirley

Hi, I don't how you are getting on chasing your Irish roots but I am also looking for Langs in
Castlepoles and although I don't think your James appears on my tree I do have a copy of
his marriage cert to Frances Vance.  His father was also James Lang Farmer of Castlepoles
and Frances' father was John Vance.  They were 30 & 29 respectively.
