Hi cant remember where Meliora comes into things ....Jenny Robinson is my mothers 2nd cousin and she has been helpfull with my research, My ancestry on my mothers side is very interwined with both the Middletons and the Reeves familys originally from Gayton in Northamptonshire and they has been a fair amount of inter marriage between the two familys on the 1841 census both my gggg grandfathers are on the same census living in the same road that is my greatgrand mothers grand father and my great grandfathers grandfather ..sorry it gets more complicated!  my greatgrandparents were 1st cousins George reeve Middleton born 1871 Gayton and lizzle Reeve Jenkins born 1871 Camberwell. Georges mother and lizzles mother were sisters( Mary anne middleton nee Reeve and Martha Jenkins nee Reeve) both daughters of Richard and Anne Reeve ...Richard Reeves brother Williams daughter Maria Middleton nee Reeve had a son(joseph) who married one of the sisters (mary anne) therefore as a couple Josephs grandfather was the brother of his wifes father! imagine what that family tree looks like! Thankyou very much for your input i will look into the Dannetts and the Whitneys if you would like to know more about the Reeves please just say...Neil

Hi and thanks Meliora.

I'm fairly sure that George's father was called Duppa as that unusual name was also present on an old family tree.

I will definitely obtain Duppas death cert as that may yield vital information and il keep you informed.

Many thanks
Neil.

Hi and Thanks Sandy.

The possible marriage you found for James ans Elizabeth in 1787 seems a strong contender.

Thanks
Neil.

I am looking for information on the Parents of George Jenkins i know (from an old family tree) that he born on the 3rd Oct 1810 (st.George the martyr) Southwark...However this tree has proved somewhat incorrect in the past.

He married Caroline Susanna Hix in October 1834 and i have a very poor photo copy of the original.

There son George was born on the 19th June 1836 ( christened 4th may 1838 St. Giles Camberwell)

I have George's death certificate dated 16th Feb 1846 aged 36 (District of Peckham)

All i know of his parents are that they may have been called Duppa and Elizabeth and that they may have been originally from Wales.

Thanks
Neil.

Northamptonshire Lookup Requests / Re: William and Richard Reeve

Hi Carole and Seahall.

After your great research i managed to find an old family tree from my mother who says it was taken from a family bible it appears that William married twice( the dates are stated as approximate)  he married an Anne in 1820 had three children the first two have the same birth dates so must be twins a boy and a girl the girl being my g-g-g grandmother Maria born 10th June 1821.

Then another Maria is listed but no birth date is given.

Then a marriage to Elizabeth Hillyard and a further five children including Harriet-1825 and Sarah-1840.
So my assumption that Elizabeth was my ancestor was wrong and it seems like the mysterious Ann is the mother of my g-g-g-grandmother and it looks like she may have died young.

Therefore the details of the first marriage would yield alot of information.

Regards
Neil.

Northamptonshire Lookup Requests / William and Richard Reeve
« on: Tuesday 28 July 09 21:19 BST (UK)  »
Hi

Could anyone help me with my other Gayton ancestors the Reeves' William and Richard were brothers - William born 1802 married an Elizabeth in 1820, Richard born 1805 died 1879 married Anne Fisher (1805-1879) married 1828.

They may have been born in Duston.

Richard is on the 1841 Gayton census same page as my Middleton ancestors.

I know nothing about there parents or William and Elizabeth's death dates also her maiden name.

Any help would be welcome.

Thanks
Neil.

Hi
The great barford Josiah seems very likely i remember my grandmother saying that her grandparents were not London area born particularly her grandmother who she said was Irish.

She remains a mystery but i am sure it is her on the 1861 census in Hanover Square.

Thanks.
Neil.
