Hi Gary, Thanks for your quick reply. You're right Eleanor is the granddaughter of Joseph (c1759) her father was also called Joseph (1806) and in my haste to reply I got them muddled ! Thus far I have drawn a blank regarding Joseph 1759, I have been in touch with the archives etc but all records regarding inmates no longer exist. I did get a copy of Joseph's death certificate though which is how I made the link to the asylum. I would be really grateful if I could have copies of any Arnell/ Miller headstones you have transcribed/photographed. Shall I send my email address - I'm not really sure of the best way to do it ?! Thanks again and look forward to hearing from you soon. Louise

Gary

Hi,
I was playing on the internet when I found this post and just got sooooooo excited, Eleanor Miller (nee Arnell) was daughter of Joseph Arnell ( a weaver) who died in Wrekenton Assylum. Joseph was born c1759 and died in 1844 - he is as far back as I have managed to trace. Any and all information regarding Arnell's / Millers would be very greatfully received. The Arnell's were "big" methodists and Joseph's sons from his first marriage, Joseph and Thomas were stonemasons. I'm hoping to track down a few more ancestors !
Thanks,
Louise
