Hi
I went on to Genes Reunited but obviously didn't pay enough 'cos I didn't seem to have the right to see family trees! I'll join in a month (when my other subscrip. expires) and start uploading. I couldn't see any Drake Mounsdons on there tho'.

Anyway, here are some ancestors for you - just for fun - although you may have them already. George Henry Drake's parents were William Drake  and Charity Jackman; and Mary Mounsdon's parents were Charles Mounsdon and Mary Delve. Great old English names aren't they?

I'll post a message on here when I join Genes Reunited. Then maybe explain how I find you there (I'm guessing it's not under 'Mounsdon'). Thanks and see you there.

Hi there

Excuse delay again. Was travelling a bit but now am going to put some energy into this properly!

I've definitely got some ancestors to add to your collection but I've never put a family tree on-line How would I reach yours? I don't know my way around Genes Reunited - is there a link directly to it? If I can find it, I'll put my collection on there.

I've got the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents of George Henry Drake, and of Mary Mounsdon. Also - strangely - I've got the life of their son Henry (my ancestor, and brother of your ancestor Georgianna. He's described as an orphan, adopted by Dr. Epps 'the homeopathic doctor'!! Is that what happened to Georgianna too?

Shall be interested in the 10 siblings of Mary Mounsdon (?) that you've got. Are they on there? There must be a lot of us about!

Look forward to hearing ....

Hi
Sorry it's taken me a long time to reply too - the family tree goes in fits and starts. All that was interesting, thanks. I went to Devon recently and there are still lots of Drakes there - one of our relatives has a big plaque in the church. I've got all the ancestors if you need them, but don't know how I'd type them in this space. They go back to the 17th century, so pretty impressive. Have you got any more over there?

Hi there
George Henry Drake (1807-1863) was an Exeter solicitor, son of John Drake (1762-1839), a Crediton miller, and Charity Jackman (1767-1839). He was my greatx2 grandfather and - it seems - your greatx3. I also have his grandparents and great grandparents on both sides.

Why did he never marry our gtx2/3 grandmother, Mary Mounsdon? I knew this story but never knew why. The name Drake was passed down through our family also . Do tell me what you know or this mystery will disappear in the mists of time!

Hi - are you still researching? I'm pretty sure your Georgianna Drake Mounsdon is my great-great Aunt; in which case I know quite a bit about her family - including some of her ancestors back to 1670!

Our family tree only records that she married a Winchester Coach Builder and emigrated to Australia though. Did you find anything out? Are you a direct descendent by any chance? Thanks.
