Wow, thanks Rob, that is fantastic. My grandmother will be so happy, she has wanted to know about her family for a long time, as have I.

What do you mean by 'email via PM,' I am very new to the chat room thing?

I am so interested in the story on the paice boys, still can not believe my mother threw it out.

Thanks Tegan

Thank God for that, I really hope there is a connection.

Its such a shame when family history is not passed down. I have always been a big fan of knowing where my family came from, what they did, how they shaped the people we are today.  :D

Hey,

I am new to this history search. I know next to nothing about my mothers side of the family and I want to put together something before my grandmother gets much older. Below is a brief description of what little I know, I have read all of your comments and I am wondering if their is any likely hood of a connection somewhere.  ???

My Grandmother said that her family never talked about their family's past so information is limited. someone contacted her late brother years ago and asked if he would contribute information as they were putting together a family tree, but unfortunately he declined.

There were five Paice brothers Three of which were enlisted in WW1. There parents were; George Thomas and Elizabeth Paice, native of Richmond Victoria.

They had 5 sons.

1. Fred Paice- Chief petty officer - Age 16
2. Bill Paice - Light horse
3. Harry Paice - ran away and joined WW1 at 16 - Served on western front, "25th machine"Harry Paice - January 1915 France and Belgium
4. Jim Paice - Married with one daughter
5. Charles Edward Paice

Charlie - was a Christian chaplain who hoped to become a Methodist Minister after the war but unfortunately he died in Gallipoli at age 21. - reports Gallipoli Graveyards state: PRICE, private, Charles Edward, 2006. 7th Bn. Australian Infantry, A.I.F killed in action 8th - 9th August 1915. Age 24. Son of George Thomas and Elizabeth PAICE. Native of  Richmond, Victoria, Australia. Sp.Mem.14
August 15th 1915 he wrote a letter "greater love has .................?"
Private of the 5th re-informant, 7th platoon.

Note the name change of the last name.

William Albert Paice- 01/06/1881 - Richmond VIC

George Paice - 18/06/87 (Nana's father) - Burnlee Melbourne VIC

Thats it, thats all I have to work with. Apparently their was an article about the paice brothers, my mother was given it but threw it away, (GOD help me! ;D) I haven't located the source of the article yet.
