to pat cluskey and horsfalls,  hi pat and margaret. i haven't heard from anyone for a while.  i would like to ask a ask some ?'s.the family name sent were very helpful for my group family i am working on. if i am correct pat is a grandson  of samuel and margaret  is a granddaughter.of samuel. is that right?. are there other children or grandfield with direct ellis names ? ii should  believe there are a lot of cousins out there. by the way what were the maiden names ofjoan and gwen? it would be helpful for the group family information i realise that many names are not allowed to be given if still alive.

i visited great britain over 10 years ago. before i got into looking up the family.i did stop in a shop in wales andwas told that many welsh people went into england which complicates things.

i am still trying to find family.  hope all is well with you and yours. say hello to all for me.

garstonite, hi allan well we share a birthdate, maybe a line will show up. i was able to get a fische of births of ellis' from frodsham started 1566 thru 1805. there were 3  thomas' listed, 1686, 1706, & 1772.
i have not checked them out as yet. the 1706 looks good as the parents are samuel and margaret.
only 1 william in 1671. i'll let you know when i get the results.  wensday spent time at the family search liabrary in Long Beach. we cleaned up the family group record for samuel ellis b 1762 m y5th ggf. there were many dupls that were consolidated, there were only 5 children listed. we added 7 more that (jean) passed on to me from bapt records. well i've got to get to work now, so goodby for now.

horsfalls, hi margaret, sorry to hear about pat's father. i didn't know him, but whenever a relative or friend passes. i lost my last uncle 3 weeks ago.  garstonite(allan oaks) contracted me about a year ago after a request for help on roots chat .he is in garston, where my gf & gm lived and were married in 1904. we have kept in touch since. hehas been very helpfull and we feel there is a link of our lines, but just haven't found it yet. i was contacted by mary pitkin in april 2008. she responded to an inquiry sent out by a friend. sarah ratcliffe married joseph ellis bn 1857 in weston. she is the mother of samuel ellis christened july 1877, in halton, cheshire, england and joseph ellis in 1879 in widness. sarah was the sister of mary's 3xgreat gf. mary has contacted me  now and then, mostly asking about samuel children. do you mind if i give her the names i was given? she also sent the pictures.she was working on a book , but don't  if finished .  keep in. touch.

horsfalls, hi margaret thanks for the response.i am sorry for the delay in answering. i will try to answer your questions 1st.my father bn april 7 1907 in liverpool was a veteranian, hewas probably the one called leslie. yes i have a sister who was a member of the fleetwoods. my gf joseph.. bn may 9 1879 in widness married elizabeth hignett bn in farnsworth in sep  1879 in garston in 1904. her father was in the building business, my gf had a butcher shop in garston. my gf, gm, and my father crossed to canada about 1913. he ended in puyullup, washington, where he opened a butcher shop. my fatherbecame avet andsoon  after i was born jan 24, 1936 he moved to olympia washington and opened his vet hospital i was joseph leslie jr.
my gf  rarely spoke of his father except he didd say he had some type and lost an arm.sarah came to the states with 3 of  her daughters.and settled in tacoma.  buy the way, did samuel  ever serve in the british  army?  and is it possible  that you are getting garstonite line with mine more later.

Horsfalls  margaret.thank you for topic information. your gf samuel ellis is my gf' joseph. i tryed for months  to locate samuel'sfamily. it was very difficult as all the necessary birthdates and marriages date came after the last census. i was finally able to get some of the names with the assistance of garstonite.(thanks again allan). this is the first since then. i would be very happy for any available info on our side of the family. you said your mum had corresponded with wickersham in calif. my gf joseph had a sister annie who married olander f wickersham in calif. i wonder(?)    annie died in 1975. many of her sisters  came to the tacoma washington area. for some reason my gf and his sisters did not get along. and were never close. my gf, gm and father came to the states in 1913 finally settled in tacoma area. my gf opened a meat and fish market in a near by town, dad was a veteranian.if you have any questions, please ask. i know iwould love any info available
(*). however i do have a sister with 4 children  and 9 grand children, so there is some line left.

hope to hear from you   les
