Hi Anne,

yes all of Walter and Flora's children stayed in New Zealand. However two of their grandchildren and some of their great grandchildren now live in England.

You said that your father emigrated to New Zealand. Do you live in New Zealand now?

His sister Flora came to New Zealand too about 1960. She died in palmerston North in 1975.

I have in my information another son for Colina and Archie. His name is Hamish. Do you know anything about him?

Yes the Mosons at the timeof the census were in Scotland. However they are not in the 1901 Scottish census. Not sure if I checked for them in England.

Hi Ann,

I am one of Flora's grand daughters. The stories we heard is that she left home and went to work with a family and emigrated with them to America. I think that I found her on the 1891 census as a housemaid with the family of George Moson. A colina Campbell was in the same household but her age is listed as 26. Anyway as the story goes, Flora rose from the ranks of housemaid to cook and travelled with the family from New York to Bermuda.

England / Harrod
« on: Friday 03 July 09 23:45 BST (UK)  »
Henry Sedgewick Harrod was supposed to have been born in Cambridgeshire about 1841. He emigrated to New Zealand about 1860's

Any information about parents siblings etc would be great or whre the Harrod family originally came from would be most appreciaed.

Hi,
Never been here before.

For 20 years I have been looking for my grandfather, and who his parents might be,who joined the Royal Warwickshire Regiment in 1891 until 1902 with reg number of 3466 then rejoined in 1914 until 1918 with the reg number of 3770

His name is Walter James Lake, from Liverpool, attested at Romford in 1891 into the Royal Warwickshire regiment, with the registration number of 3466.

He is also on the British Army WWI Medal Rolls Index Card 1914 1920 with the Reg No of 3770

My question is this "Is it possible for the same man to have two registration numbers even if he has reenlisted into the same regiment?"

Could someone assist me please

Vivien
