Hi as well HastobeKatt,

Nice to hear from another member of the family, My GG Grandfather was Wab greaves, From the info I have which is mostly newspaper articles when he died in 1925, was that he was invited out here by Sir Thomas Mitchell, who has a main library named after him in the city if Sydney. Why he invited him out here i'm not sure. Would love to email you if thats ok.

Hi nebraska,

I am a descendant of his son Albert Edward who married Susan Sicily. I have some old newspaper clippings also (I should say copies) my father has the originals, and some historical society info also.
I'm not sure what the large document is you have. Not seen it unless its info from the graves.org site.  The picture may be of the hermitage which a drawing is on this site, but I also have a photograph of a lovely house WAB lived in, in Bondi called Braylesford it could be this. I will send you a message. would love to communicate also and gather some more family info

Hi Nebraska,

My Great great grandfather was WAB Greaves.  I have some information on him, but you may have more than me. What other info do you require?. What relation are you to WAB. nice to find a distant relation to talk too.

hello

I have been researching Greaves of beeley. my ancestor is william a.b. greaves whom I believe is valentines brother. he also came to australia and is my great great grandfather. I also have a copy of a letter that Eliza, their sister wrote, listing family members and connections to people in ireland. Im now looking into the family tree and any info on the the hermitage at mayfield etc. did you have any luck. I'm knew to this but have found great site regarding greaves going way back. unsure what i'm allowed to post here.

thanks
