Scotland / John Blake b 1802 scotland
« on: Wednesday 15 October 14 19:26 BST (UK)  »
Hi everyone

I have been trying to find the parents for John Blake b 1802 scotland, he married Christian Armstrong b 1805 also from scotland.

I havent been able to find any birth records or marriage for either.  The only hint I have is in 1841 Margaret Blake b 1764 Rickarton is living with them so i assume this is his mother.

Can anyone help me please  :o

Thanks
Amanda

Hi everyone

Could someone help me please.

In a small family bible that has been passed down my family there is a reference to a marriage of Marion Logan and Archibald Youill/Youll in 1755, they lived in Gargunnock near Sterling.

As of yet we cannot find any trace of this marriage or their children anywhere to confirm the relationship further down the line. ??? ??? ???

Can anyone help me please?

Thanks in advance
Amanda

Thanks

Do you know where I would find these?  Is it normal practice that they are not as easy to access online as all of the other records.

Hi everyone

Could someone help me please.

Mary Blake born 1825 Falstone married William Hunter b 1822 Haltwhisle sometime between 1842 & 1851.  They had 3 children all of which were christened in PRESBYTERIAN-NC,HALTWHISTLE,NORTHUMBERLAND,ENGLAND.

I have searched the images on familysearch.org for Haltwhistle and not one of the baptisms is recorded?  (eg.  John Blake Hunter b 17 Oct 1853 bap 15 May 1854).   ???

1.  I cant find any record of any marriage between Mary Blake and William Hunter
2.  Why would there be no records of the baptisms

Is this because it was a PRESBYTERIAN baptism/marriage.

Apologies for my ignorance but I really don't understand.

Thanks
Amanda

Hi
I am a direct descendant of John Blake Auctioneer he is my gggg grandfather.

My gg grandfather was Robert Blake French, my grandfather was also Robert Blake French and my son who is 18 is Alex Blake aswel!!

A lot of the descendants of John and Christian's children moved to Co. Durham mainly the Consett area which is where I am from.

I have lots of information, documents and photographs of headstones etc, the only downside is that I have only been able to find John's mother who is Margaret Blake but no father.  I have not managed to find any of Christian's parents.

I did not research any of the siblings of John Blake, at the time when I began my research approx 9 years ago the records were inconclusive and I had no evidence to confirm who or if any of his brothers and sisters were?

Inbox me and I will give you all of the information I have.

Thanks
Amanda (French)

Hi

William Earnshaw b 18 May 1875 - d 30 Jun 1958 LOWER AGBRIGG??

Where is Lower AGBRIGG?
Who would I contact if I wanted them to do an obituary search & what newspaper would it most likely be in?
In 1958 would he have been cremated rather than buried?
If there was a will would this be available to view online?

Apologies for the "BLONDE" moment I am having but I am ready to smash my computer up !! ???

Hope someone can help me

Thanks in advance

Amanda
