Norfolk Lookup Requests / Re: MORTIMER John Authur Burial in Marlingford

Many thanks for your help,
if there isn't a burial for him in Marlingford, he must be the child who died in Darlington.
Regards,
Lesley

Hi lizdb,

Thanks for doing all that work for me I really appreciate it.

Robert Mortimer b1846 Marlingford, and Hannah Littleboy b1843 East Tuddenham, got married in St. Pancras in 1868 and they had 3 children Pheobe Eliza b1869 in Kentish Town,  Edward George 1871 Kentish Town, and John Arthur born 25th November 1872 in Marlingford.

John Arthur was also baptised at Marlingford in 1872, but I'm not sure what date it was because I've lost my copy of the baptism page.

In 1874 Hannah Littleboy has another daughter Ellen born in Darlington and Ellen's father is John Ward.  This is taken from the 1881 census. So between 1872 and 1874, Robert Mortimer goes missing, and Hannah is with John Ward, I can't find a death for Robert Mortimer or a marriage to John Ward.

I found a death cert for John Arthur Ward:
Death Certificate Sub district of Darlington Counties of York and Durham No. 15
12th February 1874  Dalton Street, Darlington John Arthur Ward   Male  15 months Son of John Ward  -  Labourer Cause of death: Tabes Mesenterica - Certified Informants Name and residence: Catherine Wise present at death of Dalton Street, Darlington Registered on 12th February, 1874 Registrar: William Sewell - Deputy Registrar

I've always had my doubts about if this is the correct death cert, his age is about right but John Ward is a very common name.  So I was hoping to solve the puzzle by discovering is burial record and maybe some record of the missing Robert Mortimer.

Best wishes,
Leodis

Hello,

If anyone has access to the Marlingford Burial Index could you please look for John Arthur Mortimer born in 25/11/1872 in Marlingford and also baptised in 1872 (not sure of the exact date).  His parents are Robert Mortimer and Hannah Littleboy.

I can't find him on the 1881 census so wondering if he died before 1881.

Many thanks,
Leodis

Hi Aynsley,
Just wanted to post a thank you note again.  I sent one yesterday but it hasn't appeared on the site, so maybe it didn't get through.
I appreciate you finding my Webb family in 1851, I've been trying to find them for ages.  Now I need to track them down in 1861 and find out when they came to Australia.
All the best,
Lesley

Essex Completed Lookup Requests / WEBB of Risbridge 1851 Census Lookup
« on: Monday 09 February 09 05:50 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,

Could anyone please do an 1851 census look up on the following family.

Charles Webb - Father
Emma Webb - Mother
Barnabas Webb b1842
Jonas Webb 1846
Lewis Webb 1848
Jesse Webb 1850
James Webb 1852

The childrens names are from the IGI which records that they were born in Suffolk, and Free BMD has them registered in Risbridge, Essex.

I know that Jesse and James both died in Australia, but I have yet to find out what happened to the rest of the family.

Many thanks to anyone who can help me.

Regards,

Lesley

Hi Tati and Osprey,
Many thanks for your replies.  Tati, I've got the information from the 1891 census, but thanks for the offer.
Osprey, I will look at the sites you suggested and see if I can find her, if not I will order her birth certificate as suggested.
Regards,
Leodis
