Roscommon / Re: James JUDGE born 1829 St Marys, Westmeath, Looking for parents

Hi Tom, happy to have been some use.
Have you tried the National Archives for the Rifle Brigade records.
I had a quick look on FindMyPast and there are baptism records in India of their children. Also records of two of his boys in school in Dublin.
Is their son William James born in Eastry in 1854 the same child that dies in Portsmouth in 1855?

Hi there Tom I too have a Judge from Westmeath, though I do not have enough info to be definitive into where he fits in the Judges of Westmeath.
There were both Catholic and Protestant Judges in the Athlone area. Mine were Protestant.

In your message you say St Marys, is that Sy Marys of Athlone?

Records of St Marys Athlone

Some years ago I made some notes, in the Church of Ireland Library in Dublin regarding Judges from the Athlone area. Mine are from the protestant line.

Looking back through the notes I have, I have got a baptism record for a
Sally Judge born 29 April 1822, baptised May5th 1822 parents Richard and Elizabeth.
John, son of Richard and Elizabeth born Mar20 bapt Mar28 1824 (This is most likely mine)
James  born july28 bapt july30 1826 son of Richard and Elizabeth.
Thomas born Apr15 bapt May2nd 1830 son of Richard and Elizabeth
Richard son of Richard and Elizabeth born june15th
Eliza bapt. Oct1 1837  her birth Sept6, parents Richard and Elizabeth.

I have a birth of Richard Judge, Dec2 1797, bap Dec nd. 1797, Son of James and Jane Judge of Bonnavalley
A burial of a Richard Judge, an inmate of the workhouse, died 23 Dec, buried 24th 1847

My judge , John on his marriage record has his father as Richard, and his age as 28 which makes his birth as 1828, though the record is 1824.
These are the only two records I have so I have only included this in my tree in the absence of additional records but with a caution note attached.

I hope this may be of some help to you.

Hi All, I am looking for some locations. I have from the 1881 uk census 2 locations from Anglesey. The first is Abberfraw which I am guessing is Aberffraw, the other I am not sure about. It looks like Lewdrawth but I cannot locate a place on the map with that sound. I enclose a pic if the census enumerators writing. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Everyone, thanks for all your efforts. I ended up working last night so didn't progress further. I did squeeze in a few mins this morning and found a funeral notice.
Says "funeral on Friday 24th curt at 2 o'clock from 50 Kersland Street Glasgow."
I had a look on streetview and the address is residential. I assume that this was the address of him or a family member. Is there a Kellys for Glasgow for that period
It says he died in a nursing home.
as for Alice, she was baptised Alice, the Alice Amelia appears first on her marriage cert.
Will go and visit Scotlands People tonight and see what i can find on there.
Once again thank you for all your ideas and efforts.

Hello there.
I wonder if i can get some help. I am looking for the death, date and location of an Alice Davidson.

This is what i know so far. She was born Alice Madden in Plymouth 1866. Married George Stenhouse Davidson in London in 1893. George Stenhouse Davidson owned George Davidson Fine Art Dealer 123 Sauchiehall Street. Think I have the right death for him as 1920.  They had 2 children George Wilson Davidson who was killed in WW1 age20 in 1917 and a daughter Dorothy Earle Davidson who married a Doctor Hugo Kay in Motherwell
Any help with the death of Alice would be appreciated

Hi there,
I was wondering if you found out anymore info. My interest is in Elizabeth Harrisons second husband John Kitching but have included the Williams connection in my wider tree.
