phillip dunne waterford from 1901 onwards but there are no details on records
am i doing something wrong ? i also tried my grandmother ellen hamilton born 1902 and got nothing
can any help please ?
not certain if the timeframe or locations all fit - but here are the civil index birth matches that I found :
Name: Philip Dunne / registration district: Dungarvan
qtr/year: Jul - Sep 1901
Vol: 4 / Page: 488
Name: Philip Dunne / reg. district: Waterford
qtr/year: Apr - Jun 1909
Vol: 4 / Pg: 610
no births for an Ellen Hamilton in exactly 1902, but a few around that time :
Name: Ellen Hamilton / reg dist. : Waterford
qtr/year: Jul - Sep 1901
Vol: 4 / Page: 622
Name: Ellen Hamilton / registration district: Waterford
quarter & year: Jan - Mar 1904
volume: 4 / page: 681
Name: Ellen Hamilton Reg. district: Waterford
quarter/yr: Jan - Mar 1904
vol: 4 / pg: 682
there are also a couple of Mary Ellen Hamilton records around 1901
if any of the records look promising you can order a research cert from the GRO using the index details - see www.groireland.ie
Waterford registration district covers the city and the surrounding county, Dungarvan district is to the west of the county, next to Co. Cork.

You could also write to Waterford City Library at their address Lady Lane , Waterford City, they have a newspaper index for the years 1884 to 1948 which has birth, marriage and death notices, there might be information on the members of your family you are looking for.
The 1911 census for Co. Waterford is due to come online and your grandfather Philip Dunne should be listed there (hopefully with parents and siblings).

At the moment index to Irish Civil Registration is not available on LDS Pilot site to see if there's any possible births.
Afraid we need something more precise than "from about 1930 on wards." For example, when, even approx. when, would your grandfather Philip Dunne have been born? it's not easy for us to help you without having any idea of the time frame- and please also tell us what sort of information you are actually looking for so we can suggest what you can search for next.
When would be helpful.
