Thanx everyone. I have a print of the LG entry, could not find his name at the site given, seems to be very selective compared to original.
I have my GF's details - Captain D Bremner, Merchant Navy skipper.
According to one of my aunts, they were apparently the first out and the last back carrying ammunition. The actual citation and medal have long disappeared and nobody in the family now knows anything about this, but it is really to find out why Eyemouth was used and where they were taking the ammo. Sounds as if there was quite a few ships involved.

Can any one shed any light on the movement of ammunitions from Eyemouth during WW1. My grandfather was awarded M(C)BE as a captain of one of these boats. Thanx

At West Lothian Centre yesterday, West Calder was part of Midlothian in 19th century. The farm is still fully functional but its history will be in a Midlothian collection. The valuation rolls are held in the Central Library so will have a look when I am in next week. If you contact the Midlothian Local Studies Centre in Loanhead (details on their site - local.studies[at][/blue]midlothian.gov.uk ) They may be able to give you more. T

Had a look at your marriage reg Yes John L and Christian Guilland were married on 23 Jan. She is the daughter of Jas (James) Guilland and the relict (widow?) of Robertson a weaver or tailor. No mother's name evident. The IGI of this marriage has her family name as Guilland or Robertson. I know it's not much but does seem to make better sense. T
