Thank you very much for doing that.

I'm puzzled he's not listed. That puts a spanner in the works!

Regards,

Durham Lookup Requests / 1918 Absentee Voters List - Winlaton - GARDNER John
« on: Saturday 09 March 13 05:07 GMT (UK)  »

Could someone please look up the 1918 Absentee Voters List for Winlaton?

Looking for my grandfather - GARDNER John Anthony - trying to ascertain which regiment of the RGA he was in and apparently it might be listed there?

Thanks in advance,

Andy Gardner

All of you, thanks so much for yesterday's work, I am in awe!

David

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but being a descendant of Ellen Banfield, sister of Nicholas Banfield, I am in awe too. Just belatedly.

Thanks!

LilyJ, how did you go with your search?

This is pretty bizarre, but I was in Blaydon Cemetery just this afternoon, hunting for graves of relevant family names, and I snapped an Armstrong gravestone because I recalled an Armstrong back in my tree.

It goes:

In loving memory
Francis Armstrong of Blaydon who died August 16th 1?35 aged ?2 years
Also Hannah wife of the above who died June 16th 189? aged 74 years

If you want the photo, just let me know.

Pretty freaky that after I had visited the cemetery and got back to my hotel room, I searched +"parish church" +stella +"st cuthberts" at Google and this thread came up result number 3 and I'd actually taken this shot prior.
