Hi Migky,i recieved the records from Holly Mount, its made more questions than its answered!!! says Ethel was reccomended by Chorlton Union, she was sent to Holly Mount when she was 4 (1913) and left in 1916!!!!!!!!! I've rang CCRS left messages ,but no joy yet, very rude i think!!
All i can think of is that maybe Ethel was "farmed out" to a local family, what do you think, was this the norm, kind regards Lisaxxx
Hi Migky, seems that Ethel was living at 137 Holcombe rd in 1934 when she married my grandfather, possible that she was sent to live with the family who lived there in 1916,a bit of a long shot i know but the same family may be there in 1911,any chance you have records for this, would be most grateful if you would look for me,kind regards peggytoofxxx
