United States of America / how do i find recent relatives?
« on: Friday 05 November 10 14:32 GMT (UK)  »
hi, i have been looking for relatives for a while now, i previously had them in staten island in the 1940's, however i have new info which brings my search a little closer, this info puts my last known relative at an address in new jersey in 1983, so can anyone give me any ideas how i would go about finding out if they are still there and if i have more recent relatives.

US Lookup Requests / Decendants of Charles Burns, S.I.N.Y
« on: Wednesday 14 October 09 15:53 BST (UK)  »
Hi I am looking for decendants of Charles Burns who lived at  34 Rainbow Ave. Port Richmond, Staten Island, New York in 1937 and at 273 Jewett Ave. Port Richmond in 1939.

I am not sure if he came from Belfast or was an American but he was married to my great aunt Martha (maiden name Pollock) from Belfast, my Great-grandmother also named Martha Pollock emigrated to join them in 1937 and lived their until she passed away at the ripe old age of 89 years.

I would dearly love to hear any info on any of these people or their decendants or any ideas of how i could find their decendants and hopefully find a living relative to connect with.

thankyou in advance to anyone who can help.

hi again shelly, the only sister my grandfather had was also named Martha so i take it that it was her who married Charles Burns, the Burns' i mentioned before as part of the family were not blood relatives, Charles burns' mother  named Mary was a friend of my family and who lived with my grandmother when they both became widows.

my father grew up calling Mary, Granny Burns.

so Martha(II) & Charles were both born here and they emigrated sometime before 1937 which is when Martha(I) went to join them, Martha(II) was born in 1903.

lol sorry the info is a bit haphazard i am writhing it just as it is coming to me. thanks again for making time for me Shelly, xoxo Warren.
