I connect to the Bitter/Auhl history through Emilie Sophie Lehmann who married Friedrich Hermann Christopher Bitter, greatnephew of Sophie Dorothea Bitter who  married Heinrich Johann Christian Auhl
They arrived together in 1848 on the "President smidt"accompanied by her child Christoph Joachim Fritz Bitter, born 22/3/1846 Detershagen,Mecklenberg,Prussia.Does anyone know what happened to this child?thank you

Thank you all for your advice,my meager facts are the following.Mary Ann emigrated to Australia but I'm unable to find her arrival, some states kept better records than others.A family story is that it was her 21st birthday possibly between 1912-1915.She married a Prussian-Australian in 1917 and I don't think there was any further contact with Ireland. She died in 1930 and only her birth & death dates are on the tombstone. She gave her father's name Thomas Redmond Brennan  and Queens County on her marriage certificate.Found a John Redmond Brennan married Anne of "Arles Parish"(a.k.a.Killabban Parish)children Patrick b.10May1857,Andrew b.24 April1859--Are they related to me???As you can see I need lots of help, coober

I am new to this site and would love some help.I have been searching for my grandmother for years. Her name was Mary Ann Brennan born Queens County 25 July 1892.On her marriage certificate she gave her fathers name as Thomas Redmond Brennan.I have been unable to find either of them in official records. There is a family story that she had several brothers who died in W.W.1.Any and all help would be appreciated, thank you.coober
