Berkshire / George Russell family Hambledon. Buckinghamshire .
« on: Friday 16 May 25 23:46 BST (UK)  »
Hi ,my sister will be visiting Little Marlow and  Hambledon in July 2025. We recently discovered that George Russell married Martha Symonds . They were living as elderly people in an Alms House in Hambledon . I assume …. Not know  … that they died there . Would they be in an unmarked grave or does anyone know the Alm House mentioned and if it had its own graveyard . Any help will be much appreciated . My Russell family ranged from 1730 until 1830 in the area . My great great grandmother was Charlotte Sophia Russell d/o Richard Russell born in Bray . Thanks for any hints . Fred

So Woody if you heard it from Rebecca’s family she was Abraham Moore sister . Abraham Moore went on to Marry my gt gt grandmother Charlotte Sophia Jutsum née Russell . So I am guessing we are related by marriage . Charlotte known as Sophia lived with Ambraham in Neckringer Road and Canon Munane Road in Bermondsey . Did you ever hear family stories of them . Or the scandal of Sophia and George ( her first husband ) daughter Fanny and her life story . Love to hear from you . Fred .
Charlotte and George Jutsum ( then Abraham Moore )
Alice Sophia and John Jennings
Lillian Ada and William Williams
Mollie Elizabeth and Jim Wharton .

Armed Forces / Armoured car 1944-45. Southall .
« on: Saturday 11 January 25 19:48 GMT (UK)  »
My friend remembers building armoured cars in Southall 1944-45 . He has given me some notes l he says it was not the Matador . The cars had police escorts to get through streets . Wheels were five foot high . 3 inch gun on top of. His father was Cedric Newmarch but he doesn’t know if Cedric was a mechanic or a pilot , as per his notes . Is there any one here that knows which vechile was built 1944-45 . I am happy to share notes . Fred .

Just to confirm two of the children below are Robert and Elizabeth children as Elizabeth’s family  have the same names . Magdalena Charmers and Birnie sims feature in Elizabeth life . I now just need to sort out in which generation . . I will continue to dig deeper . Thank you . Fred

Hi 5 am here in NZ . I have had Quick Look but will take it in further after morning coffee . I am sure some of these names will be correct as I had seen a note elsewhere that Robert Smith was a widower left with six children and I see you have their names there . I will have to refresh my memory as to his marriage date to Elizabeth Sim but I believe it was in 1901 after the census . Thank you for your incredible efforts . I have registered with Scotland people and am getting used to the workings of it . Back to sleep now …
