 :Hello,
Perhaps I can help.
I was born at 13 Claypath 1947, my entire family lived there.
It was a tenement property and also had rooms on the first floor up above a clothes shop (Billy Bowey). The rooms were built arouun a square courtyard and it was commonly called "the yard", the rooms were without hot water and eveything wa cooked on an open fire.
The tax office is now sited at 13 Claypath (or it was the last time I visited

Lynnej Thanks for the information, been away thats why my reply is late re your posting.
The 1911 census re Henry Taylor has two daughters listed  Violet B1904 Annie B1910 Ellen was B and D 1908, perhaps your Ellen was named after her earlier sister which was the norm.
What is a pm?
Who is Walter Taylor re picture and do you think we are related?

hello,
Henry Taylor was my Gt Grandfather born in durham, his fathers name was also Henry .
I have h T jnr m/cert which states he was 29  1908 he married Elizabeth Vasey 28 years B1881.
Henrys d/cert 1943 states he was 77 .
1911 census shows Henry living in New Durham , Durham aged 48 therefore born 1863.
If his marriage age was 45 years that would give a birth year at 1863 ,with his death age 80 years again it shows 1863.
His son george was born 1903 Framwellgate Moor co Durham.
I am hoping someone else is serching the Taylor tree any help or further suggestions would be MOST WELCOME

Janis , re Penshaw church searches,

Could you find  the marriage of  Isabella Kennedy to Joseph Cook  1793 at All Saints  church.  Isabella was born about 1772 and Joseph about1770.
I am told they both came from Shiney Row co Durham.
