Thanks shellyesq and RJ137,

The article about visiting Capt. James Voss has helped me find what happen to 2 relatives.
He would be Walter James Valentine (Ballantyne ) Voss who died 10 Jun 1980 Yeovil, Somerset, England.

If a US citizen died overseas, would any US authorities be informed?

4 of her siblings died after 1952, latest may have been 1974.
I don't have and am not aware of any death notices or wills.
I will see what I can find.

Sibyl Gordon Thompson on FamilySearch
https://www.familysearch.org/en/tree/person/details/L6HH-6H1

Is she named in any of the death notices for her siblings?
Their wills?
Did they live long lives?

I haven't  been able to locate after 1952 any information on Sibyl Gordon Nichol nee Thompson when she arrived in Liverpool 18th July 1952 on the "Empress of Canada".

She had travelled several times, at least twice to Australia.

She was born 12 Mar 1893 Queensland, Australia to
Alexander McGregor Stuart Thompson and Ellen Jane Gordon

She married Julian Searcy Nichol on the 23 Jan 1919 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia

1930, 1940, 1950 US Census she is at Davidson, Tennessee, United States.

Julian "Searcy" Nichol died September 14, 1963 in Nashville.
In his Obituary it states they are divorced.

All of her siblings died in Australia.

Call Ancestry again and if the person can't/won't help then ask to speak to their supervisor.

I don't think your account should have been cancelled!

There was a small group in the Brisbane, Queensland area that used to meet once a month.
I considered joining them a few times and never did. Sadly I don't recall their chat names.

Thanks Shaun,

I did see these records on Familysearch earlier today before posting here.

There is also a Joseph Oakley born 27 Dec 1814 and baptised 13 Jul 1823 on Ancestry
Son of Richard Oakley, seaman and wife Ann.

I'll see what I can find on them

Mick

Two baptisms at Southwark on 23 October 1814, sons of Richard Oakley, mariner, and wife Ann:

Richard born 1 Jan 1810
Joseph born 28 Dec 1813

Are there records of Master Mariner.

I'm looking for "Master Mariner" Richard Oakley, father of the Joseph Oakley on this thread
