So far I have linked all the information you have given me and it is all the same person i.e. Mary Rose Tombling + Rosie + Rose.

I have also found the 1911 census which is interesting.

I just need to link 1911 Rose with 1922 Phyllis.

Hello Cathy and Mo,

My goodness I had no idea that I would get such a response in such little time. I have spent ages looking for her, so thank you to you both.

I will look into all the information that you have provided right now!!! As from the dates it really looks possible that the rosie tombling mo gave me is her. She is known for having used many names so it wouldn't surprise me if she added a first name.

Hi,

I really hope that someone can help me. I am trying to trace a very puzzling woman.

I know her as Phyllis Rose Tottman ( Tottman being her married name) I know that she was married to Frederick Tottman 27 Feb 1922, St Etheldreda, Fulham, London. Her marriage certificate says her father was Charles Tombling. I also know she died in 1964.

The rest I can't prove. It is thought that she could have been born in 1902, and she always celebrated her birthday on the 19 Apr. It is also rumoured that she was adopted. I can't find any mention of her on the census any birth records. any records prior to her marriage really.

If anyone can help I really would be very very grateful.

Thanks

Hi that's great thanks.

Yes Levi married Elizabeth Ellen Tostafine 19 Dec 1846 West Tisted, Hampshire, England. I'm related through their daughter Mary Ann.

The Tostafines are quite interesting for research.

Hello, I recently got some new information on this line of my family so have taken it up again and found your post.

Henry John Smith and Louisa Anne Hobbs are my GGG Grandparents

My grandma says she used to call their son "Jagger Bull" instead of grandad. She says his father was a pianist and mother was an opera singer but took to the drink and the children got taken away and put in Bernados. Apparently he went on to become a rag and bone man then a sailor then worked on the docks. (I'm not sure whether this story is in the right generation) If you can shed light on this that would be great. Didn't know about a drowning in the thames so will investigate.
