Angus (Forfarshire) / Mary Scott Ford - Link to Croall
« on: Monday 19 November 12 13:30 GMT (UK)  »
I have been told by my late father the 'Croall' family has links with the Scott Ford's, but I haven't been able to trace a clear, or indeed any connection.
However I have recently been left a number of Certificates relating to Masonic Lodges etc., and amongst them is one for 'Mary Scott Ford' in 'The Supreme Grand Chapter of Scotland, Order of the Eastern Star', dated 1948.

I was also told the Scott Ford's are also linked to Glenn Ford the actor, I believe Duncan Scott-Ford may also be in there somewhere.

My family (Croall), has links with the Thomson's in Angus and I suspect Mary Scott Ford may be from Angus too (Forfar).

Any links would be useful.

Friend is going to look for family grandparent, born circa 1910 - 1914, Elizabeth Proudfoot, in Gleneagles.

I can find no Proudfoot in Gleneagles from any Census.

Help is obviously required.

Completed Census Requests / Re:1901 Census - Missing Name - Army?
« on: Monday 23 February 04 20:29 GMT (UK)  »
Chris, that's got to be him at 3 years old.  Many thanks, how did I miss the 1891 Census.  I'm going to have to start spending serious money... which is already earmarked for my other hobby!

Pauline, I tried the Boar war for those sites shown on RootsChat, but as Chris's looks very promising, I'll have to go with that.

Now to my Aunty (nee. Widley) who is old, deaf, grumpy and thinks I'm a lad about town (at 62, I wish) and see if this stirs any memories with the names.

Completed Census Requests / 1901 Census - Missing Name - Army?
« on: Monday 23 February 04 00:32 GMT (UK)  »
Looking for Robert Albert Widley, London.  I can find my Gran, Florence Haggerty, born 1888, but not my Grandfather on the 1901 Census. I'm assuming he may have been old enough to be in the Army then, but were do I look for list's of Army personel in 1901? Please.
