I'd just like to extend my gratitude to both Pete Ash & Jora for providing the feedback on my great grandfather.

I've sent many hours trying to locate his birth record and you both provided me information within a fraction of the time I've spent looking for him.
Your help has been much appreciated

Hiya

Thank you for replying to my post so quickly

Thomas & Isobel had the following children: John, Peter, Thomas, George, William & Mary

I think when I was searching ScotlandPeople website, I may have come across the name Louden but the image of the entry even though it was hand written was clear enough to make out that it was Louden & not Lothian, do you think this may be th esame family??

Many Thanks

Northumberland / William Cairns born abt 1810 Chillingham
« on: Tuesday 06 April 10 20:41 BST (UK)  »
I'm trying to trace the birth/marriage records for William Cairns who married Dorothy Ann Nelson around 1833.

According to census records William was born abt 1810 in Chillingham, Dorothy was from nearby Whittingham and was born abt 1817.

If I can trace William's birth record I'm hoping it will lead me to find out who his parents were and if he had any siblings.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Berwickshire / Thomas Lothian born abt 1794

I am trying to trace the birth record for a Thomas Lothian who according to census records was born abt 1794 in Lauder.
I've located his marriage to Isobel Litster in May 1817, the records show Thomas belonged the parish of Channelkirk & Isobel the parish of Lauder.

I'm really struggling to find his birth record which is preventing me from finding his parents and/or any siblings he may have had

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Fermanagh / James Sproul/Sprowle - Sarah Burnet

I'm looking for some help in tracing my ancestors James Sproul/Sprowl and his wife Sarah Burnet, they were the parents of my great grandfather James Sproul.
According to my great grandfather's baptism record dated 3/8/1864, in the parish of Magheraculmoney , his father James Sprowle (or Sproul) was a farmer from Killahan and his mother Sarah Burnet was from Aghama.

If anyone can help me trace James, Sarah or siblings of James (jnr), this would be much appreciated.

I'm looking for some help in tracing my ancestors Hugh Carlton - Mary McConnell, they were the parents of my great grandmother Ellen Carlton who according to records we have located (census etc) and her marriage certificate were from Ederney in Co Fermanagh.
Hugh & Mary had both died when Ellen married in Paisley Scotland in 1885.

If anyone can help me trace Hugh, Mary or siblings of Ellen, this would be much appreciated.

Hi Trish

The lower numbers of Newgate Street are business units, I believe 12 is now an Italian restaurant but I can double check for you over the weekend. When you look at the premises most of the shops look as though they have/had living quarters above them.
