Hi.
 Great to hear from you.

Eleanor Coombs was my g.grandmother. Her daughter Mary Griffiths was my dads' mum. I know about John Harris Coombs being the son born before Eleanor married John Griffiths but I had not heard Johns' dad was a Hawker. Where did you get this information?
I have photos of John, his wife and children. My dads' two older sisters were bridesmaids at Percy Coombs wedding.
Would love to hear what happened to Johns' family and questions you may have.

Wow, so much information in such a short space of time. I am so grateful. I will have to try and find out how, when and why Agnes arrived in Stockport and ended up married in later life. Thanks for all this Heather.

Have just found my g.aunt ,who died in 1901 , daughter survived and was raised by her father and his second wife in Monmouthshire. She has then turned up in 1960 married to John Chippendale in Stockport. They were both deceased by 1973. Does anyone have a connection to Tom Chippendale or any information on this family? Any help greatly appreciated as Agnes seems to be a family secret.

I have spent the last hour lost in the sinking of the RMS Leinster...... I knew nothing of this story before.....so interesting. Its lovely to see the information about Nicholas and to find a photo too was a bonus..really puts the flesh on the bones of the story.

Will not take this Mary marriage as gospel , will try and do more research on the family and maybe something about Mary will pop up.

I have found an old photo of a little girl and hand written on back is:
"With love from Emily Chapman to Uncle Dick."
This must be a daughter of Marion ( Dick is my grandad).

I will try and find this family now.

Wow..............When I posted this topic I thought I would get some help , but you have all stunned me with the help I've received.

Thank you Neil for the help regarding Nicholas , the Craven site is fantastic and I will now spend many hours reading everything on there....Nothing else at home will be done now.....

Many thanks to Keyboard86. I see now I had the wrong Maud . I found a marriage on Freebmd which might be Mary Ann.
Dec 1912 Leeds.
Mary Stephens to Fred Walsh.
I have no other prove if its her.

I think the death of Richard Stephens in Wharfedale is their father.

I have trouble with the different areas as I don't know them at all.

My grandad was Richard Josiah Stephens. His mother Grace died in Yorkshire in 1885 then his dad married Mary Jane Jarman in 1886. He remained with the family , 1891 they were in Bourne.

I 1895 he is living in Leeds and signs up as a militiaman for the west riding regiment.
His address at that time was 5,Harthy Hill, North Street, Leeds.
Then in 1901 he was in Llantrissent, Monmouthshire where he met my nan Mary Griffiths. They married in 1903.
There are some photos with my 92 year old aunt that say grandads relatives so he must of had some contact.
Thank you all for your help. Now need to find if Marion and Mary had children and if any relatives in this area. Any more help greatly appreciated.
Carol
