Further to my post of over 5 years ago, I have since with the help of my Aunt found that the dairy was in Smithdown Road Liverpool, in between Hartington Road and Holmes Street. The arch that the cows used is still visible today next to the pub.
My Aunt also told me that it was true that my Dad did contact T B of the spine after drinking the milk straight from the cows. I think it must have been Pott's disease which is tuberculosis arthritis of the spine, which results in the collapse or a deformation of the spine.

I am attaching this wedding photo of I think the Titley family hoping someone will recognise anyone on it, or can give me more information. Also I think this is such a nice photo.

The details are, the youngest bridesmaid’s just behind brides/grooms mothers are my Aunty Annie and Aunty Sally (who is 84 this year) they are twins born 1928 and my grandmother made the bridesmaid dresses. Names Aunty Sally remembers are Ethel, Matilda, Billy and maybe a William and a Walter.

I have found on the 1911 census my grandfather Thomas Pettigrew lodging with Samuel and Eliza Lovatt at 4 Chester Street Hanley, Eliza’s maiden name was Stubbs and she is my Great Grand Aunty. On a separate 1911 census form at 4 Chester Street Hanley living in one room are William and Matilda Titley with their son William Edward Titley.

This family may be connected to a previous post of mine, regarding my Aunty Sally living in a pub with an Aunty of my Granddad in 1928 when my grandmother was ill after the birth of the twins.

Thank you for the link, this will help me with other "which church" queries.

Also the second link that you posted showed a wonderful photo of Brampton Market 1871, my great great grandmother lived in 14 Front Street Brampton which I think is in the area of the market place and I am now trying to match the photo to the present Google map.

I have just ordered the following book from Amazon.

"Ada Nield Chew, suffragette who began her activism in Crewe by writing a series of letters to the Crewe Chronicle, signed "A Crewe Factory Girl", critical of the pay and conditions of women working in factories. At that time in 1894 she was working in Crompton Brothers' clothing factory in Crewe"

Wow ! thank you so much for your very informative reply, I did wonder what a chair caster was and you have answered so many queries that I had.

I think that a family tree should not be just names and dates, I am trying to pass on to my children and grandchildren more personal details of their ancestors.

Once again thank you

Mary
