Interesting chat on Rhosnessney.  My grandfather and family lived at 3 Park View.  Rogers by name.
My father was born there but in a few years they had left.  My grandfather was a 'Coal Hewer.

Hi
I am just sorting through some old photos that my dad has and I'm curious to see if my grandfather address is still there or if not does someone know where or what became of it?
The address is 6 Park View, Rhosnessney.

Regards

Doggy

thanks for all the info.
My grandfather was indeed old to be a marine.  He had spent all his adult life in the marines and hated being a civilian.  War gave him a new but very brief lease of life.  He died as he would have wanted not old and beached.
I will follow up the suggestions and hope to find a fuller picture of his death.

thank you very much for the info.   I have been helping an elderly lady trace this information.

Very impressed by the quick reply and most grateful.

Isle of Man / annie jane clague/sims

annie jane clague married john sims a soldier serving on the island,  in Oneham church Douglas.  The date was 09/11/1917.   Witnesses RJ McLeakey and Winifred Claque.

He was a widower and she a spinster.  After the war did they remain on the island or return to the mainland?

His children from the first marriage were living with his former Mother-in-Law in Liverpool.

Help please!

My  Royal Marine grandfather died on September 25th 1940 in London.  It was the time of the Blitz on the Capital .  He could have been there on duty or visiting his sister who was Matron of St.Giles Hospital Camberwell
My problem is I cannot find a death certificate.  Do the Navy not register deaths as per normal, do they just lump them all together as'killed in action' or what?

Have tried Anfield, Bootle ,litherland ,toxteth ,everton, kirkdale, west derby ,and Allerton.  Including some churches now lost through the war or neglect.  His wife lived in Falconer Street and I used this as a central point.  Did the army have a military
Cemetery?  I tried various religions, his granddaughters were married in
the Wesleyan Chapel, Wilson Street Litherland. Cannot find his wifes  grave either, she died in Falconer Street.
