Gloucestershire Lookup Requests / Bristol baptisms. St Augustine the Less
« on: Friday 28 February 14 19:09 GMT (UK)  »
Has anyone got early records for St. Augustine the Less Church, Bristol? I would really appreciate help with the following baptism dates for:-

Thomas Mitchell, born abt 1727 Bristol.
Richard Mitchell, born abt 1731 Bristol.
I have their brother Joseph as baptised 2 Feb 1746 St Augustine the Less Church, Bristol.

Their parents were Richard Mitchell (born abt 1697 Bristol) and Elizabeth (born abt 1705)

Many thanks.

Oxfordshire / Clack/Clark Clanfield, Oxon.
« on: Thursday 04 October 12 16:53 BST (UK)  »
Please, can anyone look up a baptism in Clanfield, Oxfordshire.
I am looking for the baptism record of George Clark/possibly Clack, son of Thomas.
My 2 x Great Grandfather was George Clark, born abt 1831/5 in Clanfield, Oxfordshire.
The first siting of him is in 1861 - he is a lodger, age 26, from Glenfield (?) Oxford staying in Walton in Gordano, Somerset.
He married Isabella Richards in 1863, father's name given as Thomas.
The surname Clark is thin on the ground in Clanfield, so I am wondering if he was Clack ?
Any help appreciated......

George Sanders buriel
Can anyone help with the following please.
I am looking for the buriel dates of George Sanders (born 1808 Milton Damerel) and his wife Jane (nee Bale, born 1810 Berrynarbor, Devon).  I think they were buried in Milton Damerel between the years 1836 and 1841.

Many thanks.

Gloucestershire Lookup Requests / Churchdown records

Totally stuck - Help please !!
James Flowers (abt 1801) married Elizabeth Worsley (abt.1797 Churchdown) 24 Aug 1829, (possibly Churchdown or Cheltenham).
Was she a widow or single at the time of her marriage ?  She would have been age 32.  I cannot find a baptism record on LDS site for her.  In 1841 they are living in cheltenham with their two sons.  James is not from the county. I think he died in 1851.
Elizabeth Flowers is in the Slaters Commercial Directory Cheltenham 1858-9 as living Southampton Street, Cheltenham. She is listed under Nobility Gentry and Clergy.

I too cannot find George in 1861, but have him in 1871 = RG10/2584.

The problem, I think, is with the spelling of Jarrett.  I suppose he could even be Barrett !!

I will keep digging .........
