I had sort of forgotten about this - I have found a daughter Edith Thomson b 1902 who married a William Thomson in 1920 in the Commercial Hotel, Tarland.

Margaret Gauld (b 1780 Glass d July 1851)  married George Stronach (b 1768-d 1849 ) on 14/11/1800 Mortlach, Banffshire
Daughter of George Gauld and Janet Robertson

George and Margaret had 7 children and are I think my 4 x great grandparents

I have an Andrew Bisset McHardy born Strathdon in 1864 married into my THOMSON's. They married in Leochel Cushnie  Aberdeenshire in 1883,  just in case this is relevant.

Annie Lennox also has Aberdeenshire McHardy's in her tree.

Not sure if you are still working on this one ..

William Stronach married Ann Man in 1766 in Keith, Banffshire. They had 3 children. He is my 5x great grandfather.

I am related to the Elspeth Anderson m Robert Thomson line - still working on it though ... I know they had a child/children - will post back when find out more

Thanks Yvonne - my granny Stewart lived in this house that's why I was asking .. It was her parents house - I have no idea when The Stewarts moved out sometime between 1944 and now 1947 as you moved in then... I know my great grandfather stayed in the area because his death was reg in the area. I believe he married for a 2nd time after my gt granny died in1934 ..
