Think this is my Great Uncle - looks like he led a double life! His Canadian Army records show he had no sight in his left eye as does his US draft papers. The US draft papers also show his date of birth as jan 1888.Not sure how he could be in both US and Canadian army In the First World War ?

Hi Laura,
Thanks for looking.Frederick arrived in Canada in 1905 and was resident in Minneapolis in 1917.He appears to have been a bit of a rogue so may not have legally married!
Thanks again
Sam

US Lookup Requests / Minnesota Marriage look up request
« on: Sunday 21 August 11 11:55 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for a Marriage for a Frederick George Lovett and a Agnes Johanna ? in Minnesota around 1917-1918.Frederick was sent to Canada with Fegans Homes and signed up for the Canadian Army in 1917(his enrolment papers state him as single).By 1918 his next of kin was Agnes.Have addresses for them in North Minneapolis and Chisholm. When he returned from the War he was in hospital in Winnipeg and went AWOL in October 1918.Apparently my Grandad received a letter from Frederick stating he had changed his name to George McGregor!
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi

James Hoadley is my Husbands 3 x Gt Grandad. When comparing to our family tree , you have 3 additional children for James and Sarah, James,Horatio and Walker.Do you have any birth records for them as this is the first I knew of them.
We would be interested in any research you have as tracing the Hoadleys is quite challenging!

Many Thanks

Samantha Hoadley

Hi

I have a copies of Job and Matilda Hoadley's Wills which mention Brittania.I have also traced the Gallopers ride that Job and Matilda owned- it is still running today. It was sold following the death of Matilda and is still owned by the same family.
