Many thanks to you both, I see that the Manthorpe open day this year is on September 13th so I will try to visit then. I have sent a pm to Kathy.

I realise this is a very late request but I have just stumbled across this thread.
The Manthorpe Road Burial Ground is where my GGGrandfather is buried.
John Simpson  - d1841.  Simpson is mentioned in Kathy's list of photos she took there.
Manthorpe Road  ground is only open once a year so it is very difficult to visit - if anyone can point me to Kathy for a pm I'd be very grateful.

Lincolnshire Lookup Requests / Re: spilman 1841

Very interesting, Thomas Spilman 1690 is my 6x GGrandfather and I also gained a great deal from diplomate.freeserve.co.uk.
I have visited Alkborough and the cemetery and found relatives there.  The Spilmans have dwelt in Alkborough for centuries and it's great to know they're still around.
My connection with the family is through Ann Elizabeth Spilman 1823 the daughter of John Spilman 1798 of Whitton, who married Joseph York Teanby 1819 - my GG grandfather.

Lincolnshire / Re: Canwick Road Cemetery - Lincoln

Hello everyone :)
I'm coming very late to this thread but I hope I can clarify some details on Canwick Cemetery.
I've just returned today from a successful visit having gained some knowledge from here beforehand
All three cemeteries now have new plot reference boards installed and I've uploaded them below.
I was searching for my GGrandfather in plot D2815 and had no success using the grid shown earlier in this thread.
A cemetery staff member was very helpful - he was grass cutting but gave up his time to fetch both the register and plot plans from the office.
I hope these photos help :)
