Hi Tony,

I managed to get hold of a copy of the register of deaths which has the date of death, name, age, where admitted, cause of death, when and where buried.

This might be able to give you a clue as to their date of birth.

I got this from the Lancashire records office, and paid £10.00 for this information.
It was filed under Wesham Park Hospital Register of deaths.

I hope this helps. If you contact them by email, they should be able to help you.

You could also look in the 1901 census, search by address and name.

Karen  :-)

Hi Graeme,

I tried to send you a PM but for some reason Roots said that I could'nt as you had too many !!! (Not sure what this means)

I was just wondering how your search was going, and if you got my last e-mail.

Kind Regards

Karen  :)

Hi Graeme,

Welcome to Rootschat.

This is great being in contact with people who are related distantly.
I thought I had hit a brick wall with finding family members !!!

I have sent you a private email.

Karen   :) :)

Armed Forces / WW1 Record

Hello

I am looking into if a relative was possibly in the WW1.

His name was Alfred Leopold Stafford, DOB 1882, born Toxteth Park.
He was living in Clerkenwell, London in the 1901 census, and I cannot find him in the 1911 census.

The only possiable one I have found is on Ancestry, Reg Number 5099.
http://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin/sse.dll?ti=5538&indiv=try&db=britisharmy&h=759679

I cannot be sure that it is him, and I do not know if he was in the Army.  ???

What do you guys think ?? Would it have given his middle name on the form ?

Thanks  :) :)

Hi Mair,

Looking closer I think the road says ' Clare Street'.

I am in the process of trying to look into the others members of the family, as this might give me a clue as to the wear abouts of Alfred Leopold ......

I am waiting on some information from the local records office on where abouts he was buried, and about how long he was in the workshouse for.
I will let you know when this arrives.

 :) :)
