Nice to hear from you and I trust your search is going well.  Please post those new Vickress Hereford documents to the Vickress web site or email them to me.

The James Vickress born in 1787 and baptized in 1795 is not my guy.  I thought he was but other evidence supplied by others proved that to my satisfaction.   Hence I am still stumped on how to get by this roadblock.  Any suggestions would be appreciated as I have given up on this for now.

On my mothers side I am back to before 1066 into France with some proof.  Church records back to 1600 approx., then books, land records, visitation books, and documented family trees.  Mom at least came from money and some minor titleage. It seems incredible and who knows if it true.  I am sure that those writing these family trees always wanted to confirm their roots to the King.  But for now I believe I am related to King Henry I.  Is that cool or what.  Evidence is posted to the Vickress web site.

At your suggestion I relooked at Benjamin Vickress who died close to James Vickress in 1836.  He died in the workhouse.  So my assumption is that he would not related to my folks living close or he would be living with them.  Is that a valid assumption?  I can find no links to Benajmin Vickress and my family.

Thanks,

I also found that death record and I keep it along with a bunch of misc. records that do not match any other record.  So my assumption to date is this is mispelt and should be Vickers.

Perhaps that's a possible father,,, good thought.

As for the 1851 its on the page before his son james Vickress (spelt correctly).  My his father is recorded as James Vichughe (at least on ancestry)

Gotta run,,,

Tha James Vickress you mention is another guy, but not relarted to me.  But Vickress is so rare my tree record every persopn worldwide who ever used the name.

The witnesses on the 1815 marriage between James Vickress and Ann Hulseburg at Simon and Elizabeth Morris. I do not know who they are. How can we leverage this?

Okay all you bright genealogists, let's see if you can figure this out, or point me in the right direction.  James Vickress is my oldest realive that I have been able to trace.  Then the Vickress name goes dead.  My callenge is that I can't find his birth.  He was married to Ann Hulseberg in 1815 and is listed in the 1841 census (age 50)  as per below and in the 1851 census (age 56).  He dies in 1852 (age 62) as I have his death vert and that is the man.  On the 1851 census it reports he is born in Middlesex, and I assume this means London

So my assumptoin is that he is born in London between 1790 - 1795.  No such birth can be found.  So my assumption is that the name must be variant like Vickers.  I found 2 James Vickers, one born 1878 and batprised in `1795 and another born 1793.  Further corss check proved that are not my man.

So I am stumpted.  Can anyone offer suggestion on what to try next?

Cheers, *

I am working my way through all the names and dates in the thread.  I can trace my Grandfathers William Henry Vickress's birth in 1898 in London.  His father was Thomas Vickress born in 1858 -1926.  I have just started to look further back.

My parents moved to Canada in 1951 where I live, so I am not sure what is the best method to get info in England where almost all the Vickress's I know of live or lived.  Any tips on how I should proceed would be appreciated.

I have put togeher the Vickress family tree as I know it at http://www.myheritage.com/site-60091191/vickress-family-web-site.

Feel free to pass it to anyone who is internested in the Vickress family.

Cheers
