Kildare / Re: Doody Family in Athy
« on: Wednesday 02 June 10 10:07 BST (UK)  »
I can remember a Doody family living in Athy, one of the daughters is still living in Athy, married with children.  She would be in her 50's.

I know her married mane, and her address, but as previous poster (mod) specified, I cannot give out her personal details here.

If you pm me, maybe I can help

Just browsing through the archives and found this old thread.

I have an Aunt (my Mother's sister) who was married to a Patrick (Paddy) O'Grady from Ballaghmore.  She still lives on the family farm with one of her sons. She would now be in her mid-80's, her maiden name was Maureen Seymour, from Cloncully, which is about 3 miles from Ballaghmore.   The Seymour family were also related to "Dooleys".

My Mother also had an Aunt Stasia, who lived in the U.S.!!!

There are some fantastic restorations and colouring of old photos here.   Is everybody using photoshop?  and if so, how long on average do you spend restoring a photo?

Heep up the good work!!

Hi All, I've only just stumbled across this thread.   There is an old cemetery in Nicholastown, just off the main road on the way to Kilkea from Athy.   It is located on the right-hand side of the road, just past the bad right-hand bend at Nicholastown.   Just before Coyle's farm you will see a laneway to it.   It is still used occasionally, I attended a funeral ther a few years ago.

Hope this helps
