Hi
I now believe that I am looking for Dorothy Mabel ROHDE. Could someone please look in the 1891 census to see if this family appears.
Her father was William Rohde & mother Sarah ROHDE.
Many thanks
Chris

Surrey Completed Look up Requests / 1891 census lookup for Dorothy Mabel Ivy ROUD
« on: Saturday 04 June 05 19:18 BST (UK)  »
Could someone please look for Dorothy ROUD on the 1891 census please. I am not sure of her date or place of birth but she gave birth to her son John Charles STANFORD in 1908 at Shamley Green.
I don't believe she actually married the father of the baby who was John Edwin Stanford.
Many thanks, Chris

Surrey Completed Look up Requests / Re: 1871 census Lookup for George BENNETT

Hi B

This is brilliant news. It all makes sense too because William's wife was a Harriet Stanford from Warnham & William's brother George married Elisa Stanford who was of course Harriet's sister.
Many thanks for all your help

Sussex / Re: Birth Cert info - illegitimate births
« on: Sunday 27 February 05 10:34 GMT (UK)  »
Thanks Rob & Cas

Your replies have been helpful. I did have some help from another lister re the 1841 census but couldn't find  William Fuller the butcher.
As he say he may have moved or died.
I will concentrate on Harriet to see if I can find her later.
Cheers
Chris

Sussex / Birth Cert info - illegitimate births
« on: Friday 25 February 05 18:48 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
I was under the impression that illegitimate births did not name the father on the birth cert.
However I have a birth cert for William Fuller WEST born Dec 1837 at Brighton Place Cottages, which names his father as William FULLER & mother as Harriet WEST - no maiden name given.
The later marriage cert states that William was illegitimate.
I am having problems finding any info on the father named  William FULLER (other than he was a butcher)
Any suggestions gratefully received
Thanks
Chris

Hi Paula

Many thanks for that info. I have received William West's marriage cert in the intervening period which states that he was illegitimate. It also gives his age which means his dob was 1839 so the William West with his aunt in Kemp Town is a possibility. The address on the cert is Mighell Street which I think is in the Kemp Town area too?
Think I need to find out more on this one.
Thanks again for your help

Surrey Completed Look up Requests / 1871 census Lookup for George BENNETT
« on: Thursday 24 February 05 18:57 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
Could anyone help with a lookup for George or his brother William BENNETT in the 1871 census please.
On the 1881 they are at Smithwood Common, Cranleigh. REF  RG11 0792/95 page 21.
William BENNETT is age 29 & George is aged 32.
Both give their birthplace as Cranleigh.
Many thanks
Chris
