Fife / Re: Looking for JOHN BURT Dunfermline abt 1654
« on: Wednesday 07 September 22 09:39 BST (UK)  »
I am related to this John Burt as well.  Many years ago,  I gathered every Burt record found in  set of parish records from 1653 through 1811. I had intended to continue through 1848, when my third great grandfather left Scotland but as my family grew, I finally had to set the research aside. Now I  am an empty nester  and I am finally putting that work into a spreadsheet.

So ... if you are a BURT in Utah, or
If you are a BURT from Dunfermline or even Clackmannanshire,

I would to connect.

Hello all, I am new to chat, and the Burts of Dunfermline are my primary interest.

I do have a number of births transcribed from parish records, 1655-1811.
I also have some of the genealogy that my 3rd ggf worked on while visiting his family in Dunfermline.

I KNOW the name Arminta Wright is in one or both sets of records.  I need to catch upon the other thread mentioned, and then I will start looking through the records I have and see what I can come up with.

In the meantime, I am happy to meet other Burt family members.

I am not sure I have the answer to your question, but I am also researching Robert K. Wilson.  I actually live about 15 minutes from teh town he settled in.  My 3x g-grandfather was one of the people he travelled with to Utah.

I would love to compare notes with you!
