Dear All who are interested in the Rowell family ...
I have come across them obliquely via my 3xgreat-aunt Mary Rouse who married George Rowell (1767-1834) of Laverock Hall, Blythe ... He (and his family successors) were successful jewellers, watch makers in Oxford from 1797. For more information see the links below - hope they are of interest/use.

Thanks for your interest. I did know about Kitty's passing in 1878, but not the Sarah Annesley connection. Annesley crops up as middle names in later generations, and was connected to the Joynt family - 2 brothers who changed their last name to Annesley.
Nicola, I don't know how much you know of the Devenish family but you might like to check out the link below.

Sorry not to get back to you sooner. I sent off a query (+ copy of your Rootschat post) to someone I thought might be able to help you  with the caricature copyright, but alas I haven't heard from them. I'm hoping they may contact you via Rootschat.

I have 2 entries for 30 Upper Leeson Street, as follows:
1. Marriage of Rosa Persse Brown(sic) of 30 Upper Leeson Street and William Samuel Clendinning of 4 Ashley Place, Mount Pottinger, Kockbreda Belfast married 10 December 1867 St Peter Dublin.
2. (Wills and Administration 1870) for William Hughes who died 28 December 1869 at 30 Upper Leeson St.
Note: Hughes and his wife Elizabeth were the aunt and uncle of Rosa Persse Brown, hence the connection.
However, the current numbering for Upper and Lower Leeson Street is confusing ... so I am wondering where No. 30 would be today? Any help gratefully appreciated. Thanks.

I have looked online for info on J.E. Woolford, the watercolour artist, and also contacted the relevant Canadian Museum/galleries which have collections of his work. What I am interested in is a portrait/photo of the artist himself. This is the sort of thing maybe in family collections?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You are being acknowledged in my now-book on Alexander Gallaway, so thank you for all the links to previous leads and thanks to all who contributed.
My new query.
I have No. 18 Broughton Place c.1812 and No.s  5 and 6 Great Stuart Street east
Edinburgh 1830's. I am trying to work out if these numbers are the same today as they were originally. I have gone through most of the relevant maps - Horwoods is great for the first because it includes the street numbers, but no good for the second 2. Frustratingly, none of the later maps seem to include street numbers.
No. 5 (Stuart) appears to be between Moray Place and Ainslie Place on the northern side. But No. 6 seems to be down the western end on the southern side past Ainslie Place if one goes on the Post Office Directories. But how does this work today??? That is, is No. 6 now virtually opposite No. 5????
I'd be most grateful for any clarification.
