Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Re: Any Idea's for Surname

Could it be "Panadis"?

I believe her name is Elizabeth Sawkill and the name below her also starts with and "S"
but I think, just that name, was filled in by somebody else.  Those letters are not connected.

My guess would be 3rd row up, second man in on right.

If you haven't read his Australian Imperial Force records they are available on the Australian National

Archives web site.     http://recordsearch.naa.gov.au/NameSearch/Interface/ItemDetail.aspx?Barcode=1925106

He was awarded a British War Medal and a Victory Medal while serving  for them.

Maureen:  "flat out like a lizard drinking"  -  Before I looked I knew where I would find you living  ;D

Once I find out who they are I'll know how they treated their kids.  Thanks for your input.

Thanks Prue. I also think the photo is wonderful but it would even be better if I could figure out who

they were.  I agree it was taken 1890s.  My guess was 1895ish but was hoping they would be seen as older.

I received this photo  from a relative in the hopes that I could identify the couple.  Well I'm stumped so am asking if anyone could guess the approximate age of the couple and when it was taken.  Thank you for
looking.

Thank you genechaser and tommy.  Grandmother is looking much clearer.  I really
appreciate the time and effort you give to others.
