Hi folks - does anyone know what 'combutant registration' means.
Cannot find a birth certificate for this person but on their marriage licence it says - if I am reading it properly - for their birth registration details  - combutant registation in 1830 in Paisley.  Appreciate help on this.

Hi folks - thanks your messages.  It is my understanding that my Mcgilvray's came from the Renfrewshire area, but in saying that there could be a
connection with the above information somewhere.   I am still searching and will come back if I find a link. In the meantime thanks for your interest and replies.

Hi Marion - just spotted your message on McGilvrays in Scotland.
Would you happen to have anything on Mary McGilvray born 1829 to Alexander & Isabella McGilvray.  Brothers and sisters - that I know of - Agnes b 1833,
Alexander b 1836, Helen b 1838, Janet  b 1840, Robert b 1842.  All born in Paisley as far as I know.  Appreciate if you have any onfo.  Thank you.
