Thank you both for your kind wishes.  Brian loved to help others with their research, he spent many, many hours and pounds on it.  He also loved all kinds of history, and  his old regiment.  He has compiled a a picture gallery of family and army photos, if anyone is interested  they can be found here. (hope the link works, I'm not very good at this)

Hi all,
I live not far away from Glyntaf, and I've never heard of Helfa Rd.
So I rechecked the 1891 Census, and it should read Graig-yr-Helfa Rd

Should read Lydmarsh and not Tidmarsh.
