Durham / Re: Accident Report in Newcastle Ev Chron Mrd Lynn Coulson 19 May 83
« on: Friday 07 November 25 22:11 GMT (UK)  »
There is an article in the Gateshead Post on that date which is reporting on the introduction of a new Pelican crossing. Mrs. Lynne Coulson of Beaconsfield Avenue Low Fell was one of those supporting its introduction. There is a reference to two accidents supposedly caused by drivers having to stop for the crossing and in each case a heavy vehicle crashing into the rear of the vehicle in front.

Technical Help / Re: laptop keyboard
« on: Thursday 30 October 25 21:27 GMT (UK)  »
I have had laptops for years and always use a wireless mouse. I'm not comfortable using a trackpad however often I try.
On either side of the trackpad the laptop casing can be the surface on which to move the mouse around, which is what I am doing now, you don't need a separate surface if working in tight situations.
The ideal is to use the trackpad of course but using a mouse beats throwing the laptop at the wall!  ;D

Birmingham Gazette 6 August 1936
Horace Cyril Westwood age 24 a farm labourer and two others were convicted of assault against some youths they thought were laughing at them because they were wearing black shirts.

Between 1900 and 1920 there were three births for Horace C Westwood but only one is a Horace Cyril so the above looks like your man,

Canada / Re: clabbie/clabby
« on: Tuesday 15 April 25 21:33 BST (UK)  »
There is a tree on ancestry has her father as James Clabby and who's WW1 service record records him as James Tully alias James Clabby which may be the reason I can't find a birth record on ScotlandsPeople for a Nora Clabby born 1906. There is a birth registration for a Norah Tully but it is 1904 Dennistoun.
The tree says Nora's mother is a Mary Ann McCrae. This information is on Nora's marriage record to Grose.
