Hi Heath and loobyLooayr,
Yes these are the correct records for Edward Storrie.
The census was taken when Edward's Brother in law and their family were staying. It was John Docherty and his family going to see his sister (Edward's wife Jane) for the last time before they emigrated to the USA. What has happened is that either by chance, silly recording on behalf of the census taker, misunderstanding due to thick Irish accents or (as I tend to want to think) that John/Edward were being rouges and decided to name Robert as head of the household. Robert was the little boy of John. I have a photo of Edward and his wife.
You won't find death certificates for Mary or Elizabeth in the Scottish records - they didn't die in Scotland.
Interestingly, how do you know that Charlotte (she had another brother other than Edward) and her parents are related to Edward? Do you have documents or such other to support that? By that I mean more than the 1851 Kilconway census as that doesn't give us concrete evidence of a connection sadly. It would be great if you did. They are Edward's family but it took me 4 years to confirm that so it would be great to see how you arrived at it.
I haven't done any searching for a long time but I found out a few very interesting things about Edward!! The dog that he was!!
I hope this helps a little.
Regards George Storrie.
