Hi PB,  As far as I know Jeanie was her only name ,on her birth certificate her nane is given as Jeanie Thomson Black b 16 April 1904 at Camelon Falkirk.
I have found Jeanie as a name sometimes going under the names of Jean, Jane and sometimes Janet
Many thanks for your help you have me bouncing now

Hi, Can anyone help?
When doing family research I came across the name Mrs Joan Black and her family(the family I was looking for) sailing from Glasgow to Quebec arriving on 23May 1910.onboard the Hesperian. Next to her name on the passenger list is written ""To husband 5 months----to be deported 819468."" As yet I can find no trace of her coming back to Scotland .and as yet have no trace of her in Canada. If she was deported to where and why?

Hi Duncan,
Many thanks for trying to help me in my search.Like Billy and myself it seems we're well and truly stuck, although I won't give up,it still is early days for me.
At this point I don't know if James Jack born abt 1820 had any brothers or sisters so I can work round from there, I'm finding it very difficult to get any trace of any of the family beyond that point.
I have read some of your previous posts ,which was beneficial to me and I must thank you again for for that.
If by chance you do pick anything up please remember me,
    Many thanks again
                                  Jake
