Trevor. sorry yes Rebecca is named as Joseph Prices mother on the copy of the church record  as his mother with William as his father
i cannot use census records or copies of birth certificates as it is to far back birth certificates start later
census records do not hold any information for me to locate anybody as so far back the info on them is limited
i searched church records and found Joseph Price .right fathers name right place of birth right age .going forwards i can easely trace his family up to date so know i am right
but i have searched marriage records in the same location and found a few marriages for a William Price but not a William who married a Rebecca
so i suppose they must have married some where else.
i have found Rebeccas death certificate in the same location as her son Josephs birth
have a copy of this and she is described as the widow of a military pensioner desceased
as this is the ony Rebecca Price i can find and know her husband William has died by the time the son Joseph married in England
on Josephs marriage cert his father is described as military pensioner deceased
the marriage is proving very hard to find as you say i have to look further afield
for it
but hopefully i will locate it at some time
fortunatly for me Price was not a very common name in Ireland around this period
well thanks for all the help you have given very gratfull
regards Mareith

trevor thank you so much for the information
he must (i mean )Joseph have been kept on in a civilian capacity
i have no idea what his duty was in this post .
i think he must have worked hard on his death certificate one of the causes of death is stated as exhaustion
i was just clutching at straws re William  i found a William Price  in the 90th as was his son i just wondered if son followed father
i have no info on William apart from he was in the army.
i do not think he married in the same place his son Joseph was baptised as i have searched the parish records and several Williams but none married a rebecca
sorry if i have rambled on

hello. Trevor and Roger
i am being very cheeck i wonder if you could look for a William Price he was in the 90th reg in the Peninsular war
i am clutching at straws here but Josephs father was named William and he was a military person
i wondered if Joseph followed his father into service
also could you possibly explain for me how Josephs record ended a good while before he died
but on his obituary he had a military funeral and was a barracks sergeant
hope you do not mind me asking but you have been so helpful in the past
best regards Mareith

thank you so much for the info Trevor and Roger it is very kind of you i am thrilled with it.
i would appreciate any books recommended i would love to read about the past he was involved in.none of us know anything about a medal unfotunatly would have been nice to have seen it
i have visited his grave he is buried in Warrington cemetery in Cheshire was Lancashire. he is named on the grave stone along with his wife Fanny
got a copy of his obituary from Warrington librarys archives
rather puzzled as he is stated as a barrack sergeant on his death obituary
states procession walked from Orford barracks to the cemetery where he was interred with full military honours including gun shots over the grave
know it is the right Joseph as he is recorded as born in castlecomer in obituary assumed mothel was a parish in castlecomer  why would his service have finished but at his death in 1901 he was given a military funeral and described as barracks sergeant
once again thank you so much
i am away from tomorrow untill friday so if anything sent please do not think i am ignoring it
will be next weekend before i can get to a computor again
kind regards Mareith
