« on: Friday 01 April 22 17:44 BST (UK)  »

Anyone have any information where I could access free The Elphin Census of 1749 of Roscommon.

Most areas I have looked appeared to be pay to view

My thanks

Once again thanks Carole.

I'll have a go an see if I can get a copy of Death certificate, and see what turns up.
At the time of her marriage aged 41 her address was 2 Brynamel Tce. Bonymaen, Swansea.  Edward's address was 63 Tackbrook Street, S.W.1.

His marriage to Ethel Stradling (She was a widow) was actually his 3rd. His first wife was in Derry and 2nd was in London.  Details of which I have.

Thanks Tomby

The marriage was in 1937 so Beatrice was then around 41yrs old

Husband Edward V Shanagher died Edmonton 1958 whereas Beatrice died in Swansea so she presumably returned to her birthplace

Edward was about 11yrs older than Beatrice

Thank you Carole.

I would be aware of most of the above data through researching the bmd records.

I would be more interested in information about her adult life.  My grandfather left her and moved to London where he remarried in 1940, so I often wondered/curious as to what became of her, and also where was she buried.

I am interested to know if anyone has any information on a Beatrice Mary Shanagher nee Thomas, born 1896 from Swansea.
She was married to my late grandfather.
Her parents were Joseph and Margaret Thomas.  1901 census she had 3 siblings Lizzie, Ivor and Rosalind.
Marriage certificate gives Joseph as a Mechanical Engineer.
Beatrice died in Swansea June 1965 aged appr. 69.

dear Carol and Cathyrn,

Thank you both for your replies.

I am aware of the bmd site and have already found and received the marriage records i was seeking.

Cathyrn, i would be interested in contacting you on your information through email.  I think you have to post 3 times on rootschat before you can use the pm service.

I only met Glady's once along time ago.  Edward ( Ted ) was my grandfather.

Derry (Londonderry) / henrietta street derry
« on: Tuesday 08 November 11 20:18 GMT (UK)  »

hi all,

I have been trying to find a photograph of Henrietta Street in Derry for some time.  This was the street that my maternal side of the family Elliotts and McCollums originated from.  They and their descendants lived their from early 1830's to 1913 . Henrietta street was demolished between 1974 and 1990.
I would be really interested to know if anyone might know where I might be able to locate a photograph if one exists

many thanks
