I saw your posting about Francis Heron of the Hudson Bay co.
wondered if you had if your findings were in any Irish records. Myself and a friend are this Francis Heron -

I found a small obit notice saying that John McDonald Esq. formally of Stromway  Scotland (father of John J??)  died 10 Aug 1875 at Little Britain (St Andrews) at the age of 86 or 88 really hard to read.

sorry don't have these ones. Have a lot of Fletts and McDonalds but not them.
I found that Flett family very hard to work around.
You will find George Flett ( should be the Grandfather of Mary)
will at  http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/default.htm?source=home
"Will of George Flett, Yeoman of Red River Settlement, Hudsons Bay , Canada   14 November 1851   PROB 11/2142"
they are usually filled with a wealth of information- if nothing else very interesting to read.

I have put together a list of wills from Scotland and England for HBC men and some settlers that are available on line-
there is Peter Fidler's, a couple of Inksters, Fletts, McDoanld and Macdonald-
if you let me know I can look to see if any of them would be of use to you.
they can be downloaded from the England and Scotland sites and are about 10.00 CAD each.
I also do a lot of research on the Red River Settlement area and have 100's of headstones on file- again if you want you could give me a list of names and dates and I check to see if I have them.

Hi Donna could you possibly check a couple of names for me
Susanna Dunlop (nee Sharpley) born about 1788 Ireland should be in Maybole after 1851 wife of Robert Dunlop
Margaret Dunlop (nee McMillan) born abt 1821 should be in Maybole after 1851- wife of Thomas dunlop
