PS. to my previous response to your reply.  I have not ruled out one Elizabeth Ritchie death 23 Feb 1896 informant Hugh Ritchie, grandson or Eliza Ritchie death 31 March 1889 at Dancairn Gardens, informant Agnes Ritchie, granddaughter.  I have a question marked these because I can't find a connection for either informant.

Thanks for the response.  I have ruled out Eliza Ritchie who died in Theodore St 9th February (1912?) from burials in Parish Carnmoney Church Archives, and the one who died at 16 Leeson St on 7th February 1912.  Would be interested to know of the others.

Can't find my GGGrandmothers Eliza Ritchie (formerly Gray or Kissick) death in Ireland or Scotland.  She was still alive in 1887 at 56 New Dock St Ireland and probably up to 1895 in Nelson Street Belfast.  My GG Grandfather died in 1882 at 56 New Dock St, Belfast.  My grandfather who was born in Scotland was living with Eliza, his grandmother untill 1887 (age 10) when he came to Australia to join his parents, who had been living in Hamilton Scotland, and younger siblings.  It appears she moved to Nelson Street after that date and is still in directory at Nelson St up to 1895.  Although it's possible that there were two Eliza Ritchies in the area at that time I am assuming it to be the same one at both addresses.  I have not been able to find a death for her in Ireland and thought that maybe she went back to Scotland to live with relatives but have not been able to find a death that matches there either.  Hope someone can help :-[

Hi Lodger, Firstly, thank you for the look ups in Hamilton cemetery which you have done for a distant cousin of mine, Heather.  I'm one of the descendants of the Gebbie/Lang families.  Heather has passed on the information you have found for us.  Apart from the family history I share with Heather, I also have another branch of my family who have lived in the Hamilton area.  The Ritchie family.  My great grandfather Robert Ritchie married a Margaret Wilson.  Margaret had a sister Marion, from whom Heather descends.  Their parents are our common ancestor.
My GG Grandfather Daniel Ritchie and his wife (though no marriage has been found in my 20 years of searching) Eliza (Elizabeth) Gray (Kisseck?) are both supposed to have been born in Lanarkshire, possibly Lanark.  They had their children in Antrim Ireland and although my GGrandfather Robert Ritchie married lived and had most of his children in Hamilton, I have not been able to fine what became of his siblings - wether they also went to Scotland or not.  Robert and his wife Margaret migrated to Australia in 1886.  Roberts father Daniel died in Belfast.  His Mother Eliza was still in Belfast in 1887 but I have not found her death there and wondered if she returned to Scotland to live with other family members.  If you think you could help me in any way on my Ritchie/Gray line, it would be greatly appreciated.
Regards, CeciliaR
