Go to www.ancestor.co.za, and search for
firstname:William
Surname:Cox

There are 2 possible death notices at number 5 and 6 in the list, but I would think the more likely one would be number 6 in 1902. I'm guessing his death was probably only registered after 31 Dec.

Usually takes about a week to get the image

I took a look in the telephone directory and only found 3 entries for the name Schmelzer. Maybe you could start there.

Just found a record at http://www.ancestor.co.za if you search on Samuel James, it's the 6th item down.

Could be your Samuel (his wife is listed as Selina Ann Kitte)

I have just used the site, and really glad I did :)

I was quite impressed with the quality of images, and it only took about a week.
