Hello, I'm new here.  Very intersted in all the previous replies.  No connections to my family so far though. 

I'd really be interested to know if anyone on here has any recollection of a family called McDermid.  Mum and Dad John and Margaret.  Children:  Barbara (my great granny), Donald, Sarah, Patrick, Mary, Christina and Isabella.  All of these children were born around 1885 - 1896 and all have addresses at Veitch's Court, Duntocher.  I have more information on them if anyone has any connection or handed down memories.

I just found this site tonite and am quite excited to find the name McDermid.
John and Margaret were my great grandparents, I think Margaret's maiden name was Kelly. 
Christina was my grandmother, but sadly died before I was born.
I'd love to find out more if you have any information.
