Staffordshire Lookup Requests / Birth/Baptism Lookup Please - WAGSTAFF
« on: Thursday 11 March 10 12:58 GMT (UK)  »
Please can someone look up a birth of Georgina Wagstaff birth 1878. She died about one year later.  I want to know if Cornelius Wagstaff is the father, and Sarah Anne Broad is the mother.  Sarah died at the age of 21 soon after marrying Cornelius. (my great grandfather).  Thank you, Kit Kat.

Thank You Hume,
I do have the info regarding the marriage of William Constantine and Elizabeth Williamson.  Although, I have not sent off for a certificate yet.
And, no matter how small or repetitive the info is I really appreciate the time that anyone takes to look for it.
Thanks again,
KitKat

I am looking for William Constantine of Scotland.  I think he was born in Glasgow and once lived on Sauchiehall street.  He was born about 1815-1817.  By the 1841 census he was married to Elizabeth and living in Stockport, Cheshire.  Elizabeth was widowed by the 1851 census. He was a silk tophat manufacturer. I would be so grateful If anyone can find his birth and let me know the link so that I can get a birth certificate??

Hi Jean,
Thank you so much for taking the time to search and heading me in the right direction!
You can probably tell that I am new at this!  This  must be the William Constantine  I have been looking for.  Never thought of him passing on before Mary was born. Now I can get a death certificate.

Thank You Jean,
Now I am positive that Ann and Elizabeth were sisters. I will have to get the birth & marriage certificates next.  Do you know if it is possible that William Constantine could have passed on from the big cholera epidemic of 1848 which hit Cheshire?  I know that he died between 1848 and 1851. Thanks again!  KitKat

Hi Chris,
Hope you can help me with this one!  I have been told that my Great Great Grandfather was named William Constantine,  a silk top-hat manufacturer from Scotland (Glasgow). He married Elizabeth ?? They had a daughter named Mary Constantine in 1848.  I have been able to find a William Consterdine and Elizabeth in the 1841 census, living at Bredbury Green, Stockport. and neighbours James & Ann Cock and family living next door.  I believe Ann was Elizbbeth's sister.  I think their maiden names was Williamson.  William Constantine passed on by the 1851 census.
Could you find out  anything about William Constantine & Elizabeth??? e.g. fathers names, occupations, and mothers names etc.  I would be so greatful for anything you may find.  I have come to a brick wall on this one.  I cannot find anything about William.
Thanks!  KitKat

Thank you for finding the 1841 census.  I do have this info.  I'm thinking Joseph Williamson must be Ann Cock and Elizabeth Constantine's father.  In the 1851 census I have Elizabeth Constantine (widdow) and daughter Mary living with the Cock family.  Elizabeth Constantine is my great-great grandmother.  If you happen to find anything else, I'd love to hear from you.  Thanks again!

Cheshire Lookup Requests / Constantine / Williamson
« on: Friday 06 March 09 02:29 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for any information on William Constantine from Scotland and Elizabeth Williamson from Bredbury, Stockport.  They had a daughter named Mary in 1848 from Bredbury, although,  I have them married in 1840.  Were there any more children that may have died?  William passed on by 1851.  According to the census, I have Elizabeth and Mary living with James and Ann Cock (Ann was Elizabeths sister I think). Both families were hatters. Were the Williamsons owners of one of the hat factories?  Can you tell me the parents names of Elizabeth and William and did William Constantine have any family  living in Stockport? I know this sounds like a lot of rambling (just trying to give as much info as possible)  I would be grateful for anything. Thanks
