Hello Lisa,

Thanks for the reply, but sadly none of the Armstrongs you listed are connected to my family.  Good luck with your research

Hello

I knew your grandfather, he was known to me as (great) Uncle Os. I have also been in contact with Don (your Dad).   He very kindly sent me some photos including a couple of wedding photos.   I lost his email address when my hard drive got fried a couple of years ago.  I am not sure if I sent him a copy of the Armstrong pedigree chart.  If you are willing to give me yours I will send a copy to you.

Hello Cin 65

I have just read your post and am excited to see it.  I am also descended from Jacob Armstrong.  I see that you live in Australia (as do I) and am wondering if you are also a descendant from William Armstrong and his wife Annie Forster.  They are my great grand parents. If you are, here's hoping,  I have a lot more information about our ancestors.

Hello don_niagara.

Thanks for your post about the Mawhinneys of Newtownards.  I was very interested to read the information about William McGimpsey that was included. I am hoping you may be willing to share any further information on him and his family as I am researching the McGimpseys of Mill Isle.  My husband is a descendent.

Hello Trevor108

Wow, any information about Jane Bowman would be greatly appreciated.  I still haven't found anything further on Thomas Armstrong but still looking  :) Which one of Thomas Armstrong and Ann Thompson's children are you descended from.

Hi cando

Thanks for the info about the birth in 1838. It's not my Amelia though as the one born in 1838 (parents David and Susannah) died in Hobart in 1839.

Hi again Giblet

Thanks for the news clipping.  As a by the by, one of the witnesses in the second case, Robert McDougall was married to James Collis's mother Elizabeth (nee Williams).

Hi Giblet

Thank you so much for pointing me in the direction of Esseye Collis's will.  It has proved a suspicion I have had regarding the identity of James wife who he married in 1879.  I have always wondered if Essey Smith was actually Jane Jamison. Jane was recorded as Essey Jamison for some of their children's baptisms.  Her will names their children as her sons, so I think I can clear that mystery.  Now as to where she came from????

Thanks again

Australia / Amelia (Emily) WILLIAMS/LUMSDEN c1836-1919 Tasmania

Hello

Is there anyone who can help with my brick wall.  I am looking for the birth/baptism date, place of birth and parents names for Amelia (aka Emily) Williams.  She married Andrew Lumsden at Battery Point, Hobart on 12 Feb 1855.  They settled in the Castle Forbes area and had the following children:  Ann, Malcomb, John, Mary, Emily and Alexander.

Thanks in advance
